Most timbers are box-heart (square) sizes: 7"x 7", 8" x 8", 10" x 10", and up to 12" x 12". When using hand hewn timbers please keep in mind they are reclaimed antique material from barns and were hand hewn to size. They are not always perfectly square and may have irregularities from one end to the other. Lengths range from 6 feet to 40 feet in mixed hardwoods (white oak, red oak, hickory, beech and poplar) and limited quantities of Southern Yellow Pine.
Our timbers are graded visually by our own in-house standards. We can usually provide different grades of timbers to help you achieve the look you desire. Visual grades are for looks only, and there may be situations where some visual grades crossover. Structural grades may be achieved with our timbers by using graders from TPI. Please call for more information.
